Collection: Fire and Fog

The Palisades Fire was a destructive wildfire that burned in the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles County on January 7, 2025. It burned more than 23,000 acres, destroyed over 6,800 structures, and killed 12 people. Almost the entire village of Pacific Palisades was completely gutted in the blaze.

We've gone back to our house several times in the last few weeks and even though the house is still standing, months of remediation will have to be completed before we can move back in. During those visits we've seen some of the less fortunate homes in the neighborhood.
